As a frugal fashionista, I'm always looking for ways to re-invent my outfits. Sometimes this means constantly mixing and matching, and sometimes this means borrowing from my mom's wardrobe. Today, however, I borrowed from my dad. I know, I know, this is nothing new for some people, but I never thought I'd find a fashion treasure in my dad's closet. This Banana Republic shirt is almost exactly like what I found:
All I did was roll up the sleeves, unbutton the top buttons, and wrap a belt around it. Voilà! A perfect button-down tunic that actually fits. I've been wanting to buy a button-down tunic for a while now, but now I don't need to! Don't be afraid to borrow from your dad/boyfriend/husband/guy friend's closet! You never know what you might discover.

that's great styling of a man's shirt!
ReplyDeletere: i'm sure your hair will grow to be more beautiful than mine! :)
@Emilie: I know! No matter how baggy the sleeves, rolling them up always gives you that relaxed, stylish vibe. I do it all the time.
ReplyDeletethis post is awesome! i think a lot of style bloggers are sort of driven by consumerist ideals -like "i have to buy this new cardigan at urban outfitters, take a picture, so i can wear it ONCE on my blog" - then the next day it becomes irrelevant! I much more appreciate hearing about people finding their clothes in unexpected places!!! im constantly recycling my wardrobe to find new things.

So timely! I got my husband a Kenneth Cole button-ups, not a denim fabric but the color is the same except that it was cotton, unfortunately it did not fit him, I tried it and thought I could make it a mini dress, pair with an over the knee high socks! Another wardrobe post idea for my blog perhaps?
