Classic Black and White

In response to dear reader E...'s question about whether or not I can post the magazine article that I wrote, I will try!  Once it becomes available online, I will take a screenshot of it (I could scan it, but it is too large for my scanner).  But what I do have is a look at a recently published article that I wrote for my school newspaper on Fall/Winter 2011 trends:
This is as large as I could get it, and so I wouldn't advise you try and read it.  But you can see that the main trend I chose to highlight for this season was the lady-like glamour of the 1950s.  I chose a look from Louis Vuitton as my photo for two reasons: it was my favourite show of the season, and it was the collection that best represented the '50s trend.  And just to let you know, I did not write the poem Ode to Winter Break, but it is in fact a wonderful poem written by my good friend.

Even though practically no one reads the school newspaper, this issue holds special meaning to me, because this was my first issue as the Arts & Entertainment Editor, a position I am overjoyed to be holding.

  5. Thank you ANgelica. I was really curious to sde your article and if it will be available online it would be amazing (here is really comlicated to read it....but I understand your difficulties with the scanner, I hate those objects :D)

However I also loved the LV show (one of the most elegant that Jacobs realized for LV) and also if very few people willr ead your article I'm sure that it is very itneresting and a good reflexion about the trend of the '50.

  8. I would love to read your article and I think it's great that you're an editor for a school newspaper, especially covering fashion. Judging by your blog posts, I'm sure it was a great piece of writing! I also love the return to feminine glamour! So classy! xxoxoxoo

  16. @Tonio: Yes, I love Fashion Doesn't Exist too! ;)

@Fashion Cappuccino: I am actually the only one who covers fashion. Last year, I was the unofficial fashion writer for the school newspaper. And this year, I still am. Turns out no one else wants to write on fashion!

@Madeleine: Definitely! I've been working on building up my portfolio for the past two years. Not much in it...six articles so far!
