When I saw Michael Kors' Fall/Winter 2012 collection, the first thing I said was, "Yes! Michael Kors is back!" After his huge disappointment of a Spring/Summer 2011 collection, I was so relieved to see him dumping the overly relaxed aesthetic of his last collection, for his signature classic, glamorous ensembles. There were still relaxed silhouettes in this collection, but they were done with precise tailoring and an overall sleek line, achieved through monochrome dressing. To start, Kors paired slick pantsuits or dresses underneath big toppers:
Then the fit started to become looser with languid draping, but the tailoring was still clean cut:
And it's not a Michael Kors collection without some glamour! Kors amped up the glamour by giving us some twinkling looks:
To celebrate 30 years in business, Kors gave his customers exactly what they wanted: clean, classic glamour. Now this is the Kors that I know and love.

I love his collections and I was happy to see the glamour back! Especially the coats and the dresses were luxurious! You didn't like the spring/summer collection!? It was one of my favorites! haha..yeah, I like to imagine what I want to do with my boyfriend (if I have one!) and I'm not sure if guys are into reenacting movie scenes every weekend but if he's a romantic like me, I don't think he'd mind :-) xoxoxoo

@monchinee: Oh yes, those fur coats are so gorgeous. Pure luxury!
ReplyDelete@Marissa: I see what you mean, but I think he's just setting out to create these classic pieces for women.
@Fashion Cappuccino: I know quite a few people who liked his Spring collection, so I know I'm a minority here. I just thought it was a bit sloppy and much much too relaxed for a label like Kors.
@E: Yes, I know exactly which one you are talking about. I contemplated putting it on, but you can only have so many photos! :)
I love the neutral colours here. Grey, beige and black are all classic colours. I love the last 2 dresses: so pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks, darling, for stopping by the blog ... a little note awaits you from Cherie next time you're by ;)
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous collection, but I like the SS2011 collection too, why was it a disappointment!?
ReplyDeleteI love this collection. I wasn't that taken with it at first, but when he brought out the chiffon black dress (the third photo in your "twinkling looks" section) I was sold ;-)
