Lanvin is already getting a lot of attention lately with the H&M collaboration, but I'm going to take a risk and talk about Lanvin some more. Oh come on...you know you'll never get tired of Lanvin! As I mentioned, Holt Renfrew started their holiday season, and many of their mannequins were draped in Lanvin. One piece in particular stopped me right in my tracks and had me staring at it for a good 15 seconds:
Being a complete girly-girl, this, my friends, is sartorial heaven. The black lace overlay on the skirt is absolutely gorgeous. The pattern and quality of the lace can only be described as pure elegance, and the soft drape of the gray lace is incredibly unique. With a dress like this, you can't possibly get tired of Lanvin.

I would totally wear it. It had me staring too! :D But I don't think I will buy Lanvin in the near future...
ReplyDeleteI love that one-shoulder lace dress. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteit's so delicate and pretty!!
ReplyDeleteI adore the dress - it's a perfect snapshot of a ladylike elegance.
ReplyDeletenot sure about that fur shrug though! reminds me a lot of Monster's Inc, as well as the fashion editorial spread in this year's September issue of Vogue. Better left in cartoons I think! ;)
Was looking at this collection the other day - FANTASTIC. Totally has the essence of Lanvin, but for a broader audience. Fabulous? ABSOLUTELY.

I hate, hate, hate that every fashion blogger writes about Lanvin for H&M. But this post I liked, it was very different and actually had a great content and I really do agree with you. I will never ever get tierd of Lanvin since they're so great. Fab.

When I looked at the dress, somehow I thought the skirt had a leopard print, but it turned out to be lace. It's a very nice dress, the draped top is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I'm following you now.

I can't say thta this is my favourite dress of the Lanvin show...But surely it is one of my favourite...In fact I really like the "double face" of the Lanvin dress... Elbaz developes a lot of dresses that have a kind of "double face": a part is realized in a way and the other part in a different way. So, the result is a wonderful creation that we can only admire and let us "speechless".

@Yelena: I just finished reading the September issue of Vogue (I know, I'm so behind!), and the fur shrug does remind me of Monsters Inc.! It was quite a spread; I might share it with everyone.
ReplyDelete@Fashion Ranger: Haha! Well, I'm guilty of talking about Lanvin for H&M too, but thank you for your kind words!
@Steph: Ah yes! The pattern of the skirt really is quite unique, and it does almost look like leopard print.
@E: This is probably not my absolute favourite either, but it is definitely one that has caught my eye. Love how you see it as "double face".
Its delicate and pretty. dont know if id actually wear it though.

ReplyDeleteBy the way, I noticed that when you leave comments you do it under 'Anonymous' and then leave your link. A couple of things... your link doesn't automatically link to your page, it has to be copied and pasted. This is because blogger prefers you to use the html code for links (e.g. < a href = ...) you know what I mean? Secondly, I know a lot of bloggers automatically delete any comments that come from 'Anonymous' so it might be better to use the Name/URL option which will link anyone to your blog as soon as they click on your name, or just link to your blogger profile. I hope that helps - I don't want you to be losing out on readers because of this! xo

Oh dear, how amazing is her hair?! Can't wait until my hair gets longer!
ReplyDeleteWish you a great weekend :)
Gorgeous dress! I love their collections and the feminity of their pieces, but unfortunately I wouldn't have enough occasions to actually wear most of their dresses. Perhaps I should buy it for wall art...
ReplyDelete@Leia: Yes, I do realize the inconvenience of commenting as Anonymous, and have been commenting as myself lately. Thank you so much for your concern!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is really gorgeous, understated but would still make every head turn. :)
