Net-a-Porter offers three McQueen bridal dresses, and all three are well-constructed, reveal a significant bit of leg, and range from the more traditional, to the highly daring. While the first dress doesn't appeal to me whatsoever, I am drawn to the peeking out of the floral embroidered underskirt in the second dress. The third one is absolutely exquisite, and even though I would never wear it myself, I would love to see someone getting married in it.
As much as I do want something unique as my wedding dress, I find Lanvin Blanche to be too playful and casual for somewhat of a traditionalist like me. However, I do appreciate McQueen and Lanvin Blanche's modern take on bridalwear, and no one will ever forget the bride who wears any of these dresses.
See the entire Lanvin Blanche collection here and here.

These gowns are all gorgeous! I agree with you that I would never wear one for my own wedding--too playful or too reserved. However, some of the Lanvin Blanche looks especially would be lovely as a reception dress or for a cocktail party (maybe even a sophisticated, unusual take on prom for some of them).
ReplyDeleteI will be the "unconventional bride" lol.
ReplyDeleteI love those dresses but I want to wear them everyday! they look so comfy!!
See you :)
Nice dresses, creamy and summery and can't stop thinking about a late summer wedding, slightly sun tanned and blonde braids. Always welcome to stop by at I am Folklore too..xx V

"unconventional bride" looks FAB. i love it..especially the short dresses. I think with the right shoes it can looks very unique and lovely, kinda like Carrie Bradshaws second wedding dress in SATC, simple and stylish
ReplyDeleteThey're definitely a different take on bridal dresses and I'm not really a fan of all three of the McQueen's collection but I do love Lanvin Blanche! Especially the one with the fur and the pleated skirt underneath is gorgeous! I like the casual appeal of it! I think if I get married, I would choose between Rodarte and Marchesa though :-) xoxoxooo
ReplyDeletesome of them are great!good post!!xx

I'm especially loving the McQueen pieces. Now this is the type of wedding gown I would select if I were getting married - elegant yet different. Gorgeous selections!! :)
ReplyDeleteThe McQueen dresses are stunning. I totally would have gone with the last one (if I were getting married again;). I ended up going more traditional than I ever thought I would. You'll know the dress when you find it.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! First off, I'm so in love with wedding stuff, and wedding dresses are no exception! Secondly, I just did a post on weddings too on my blog! You should check it out :) These dresses are so unique and so pretty, and I definitely love this post!

Wow, I'm so amazed of these dresses and I'm happy that you make a psot about these gowns (my favourite, as I suggested in the previous comment...). I love McQueen for its dramatic style, Lanvin, as you said, less drmaatic but, at the same time, unconventional with the t-shirt...wow!

ReplyDeleteI agreed with your views on Lavin and McQueen, I just adored that third dress, I keep wondering what setting it might work in. Ms MPChouChou is right I think-you'll know when you find the dress.

i agree, it's too casual! woudln't mind seeing a bride wear this but definitely that wouldn't be me LOL :P like you, i'm more of the traditional kind. ;)
ReplyDeleteLove love love that third dress!
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm getting married or anything anytime soon LOL but I love looking at fashion dresses! It's the one dress 'category' where designers can pull out their old fairytale books and actually go all out, with the beautiful and timeless classic gowns, with some funkiness mixed in. <3
