Dree Hemingway

It's been absolute ages since I've done a model feature!  I used to have a system of alternating between one of my own posts and a model feature, but it became stifling to the point I felt my own blog was slipping away from between my fingers.  In the end, forcing myself to make a certain post when I wasn't in the mood just didn't work.  But having already discussed my preference for models over celebrities, you'll probably realize I started model features in the first place because I want to give models more credit for the work they do in this celebrity-obsessed world (fashion magazines, PLEASE STOP putting celebrities on your covers). So I apologize if I've been getting through these model requests at a painstakingly slow rate, but if you've requested a model feature, you'll see it, I promise.  So at the request of Iben, Dree Hemingway is up next on this blog's model feature!

Dree is, of course, great-grand daughter of Earnest Hemingway, famous literary icon.  While girls like her are sometimes more known for their impactful last name than their talents, Dree has fast become known for her modeling abilities (but ok, the last name doesn't hurt).  With her beachy blonde hair, elongated face, and soft, hazy eyes, she's got the qualities of a Parisienne, with a Californian sense of fun.

Like any other strong, powerful model, she has a penchant for black menswear inspired pieces when she isn't working the camera. Will you just look at that stylishly limp hair and almost deadpanned gaze?  The Parisienne aura is so palpable.

Her latest appearance was at one show: Matthew Williamson Spring/Summer 2012 RTW.  She's definitely more the socialiate!

If there are any models you want to see featured, just give me a shout if you haven't done so already!

Ali Michael

At the request of Dahl, Ali Michael is up next on this blog's model feature!
Ali is an American model known for her clear complexion and strong eyebrows.  In 2005, she won the Fashion! Dallas/Kim Dawson Model Search contest.  She's struggled with an eating disorder in the past, and has spoken candidly about pressures to be thin in the modeling industry, revealing that a lot of the models she knew had issues with food in some way.
On the streets, she keeps it casual and you'll most likely find her with a slouchy shoulder bag, and black separates which she will energize with a white or printed top.
Her latest appearance has been during the Pre-Fall 2010 collections:
Oscar de la Renta

Wang Xiao

At the request of socialitedreams, Wang Xiao is up next on this blog's model feature!
Xiao is a model from China known for her hair, uniquely cut in a boyish, strict bob that not many of us could pull off, yet which she does with a feminine twist.  She started off by signing with Wilhelmina, and within the same year, was asked to be photographed by Steven Miesel.  But her true breakthrough came when she signed a fragrance contract with Calvin Klein One.
There's always a searing intensity in her photos, even when she dons longer hair and poses with candy.  She draws you in, and there's something about her photos that's slightly disconcerting.
She shows the same kind of intensity on the streets, with her eccentric and edgy off-duty looks:
In an interview with Elle, when asked whether she thinks about anything when walking down the runway, she replies, "No. It’s just a walk. It’s easy for me. I’m never nervous."  Luckily, it shows!  Here's a look at the shows she scored during Spring/Summer 2012:

Amanda Nørgaard

At the request of  Fashion Cappuccino, Amanda Nørgaard is up next on this blog's model feature!
Amanda is a model from Denmark known for her eyes, which stare at you with that lazy, eyes-half-open, tired chic look.  She tends to keep her lips straight or slightly turned down, making her the perfect girl for designers in need of a rebellious, edgy demeanour.  Besides designers, Amanda has also tugged on the heartstrings of The Vaccines, who wrote a song about her called Nørgaard.

Her personal style has been described as a modern twist on the 70s, with an apparent love for black shoes.  She likes to wear one thing that catches your eye; one thing that doesn't quite belong (yet always somehow does).  Amanda has also said herself that she enjoys denim on denim.
Her latest appearance was at Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2012:
